The red wine Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG, vintage 2016 from the winery Castello Romitorio has been rated in 2024 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 98 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Medium-dense, bright ruby with a fine garnet sheen. Complex and open nose with notes of dried tomatoes, sour cherries and light tobacco. Polished on the palate, all of a piece from start to finish, lots of finely-meshed tannins, coated in fruity texture, with subtle earthy notes on the finish.
