The red wine Château Ausone, vintage 2005 from the winery Château Ausone has been rated in 2006 with 95 - 97 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Merlot from the region St. Emilion in France.
Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening, dark, multi-layered berry fruit on the nose, delicate roasted aromas, dried fruit notes, mineral, already surprisingly inviting. Extremely full-bodied on the palate, very firm, still somewhat demanding tannins, but already with a sweet underpinning, very good texture, freshly structured and almost red berry on the finish. A very clear wine with great development prospects, but which will taste rather unspectacular and almost unapproachable for a few years.
