The red wine SOPRA SYRAH, vintage 2018 from the winery Colline di Sopra has been rated in 2024 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Syrah from the region Montescudaio in Italy.
Brilliant ruby. Warm and deep on the nose, toasted black bread, black pepper and juicy plums, with a hint of lovage behind it. Soft and supple on the palate, with rich fruit in the centre, on grippy tannins, long finish, has benefited from bottle ageing.
More about the tastingDark, elegant ruby red with a garnet red rim. Intense, savoury bouquet of dark cherry, barley malt, notes of leather and oak, also slightly animalistic in the aftertaste. Initially extremely soft on the palate, then rich in tannins and with a pleasant freshness and juiciness, still somewhat brisk.
