The white wine Chardonnay Reserve, vintage 2020 from the winery Der GlücksJäger has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Pale golden yellow in colour, with strong new wood on the nose along with lots of smoke and roasted aromas. Some liquorice, ripe honeydew melon, butternut squash and vegetal notes such green walnut and leek also emerge. On the palate it's broad with substance, tension and power. The beautiful savouriness underpins the palate, aided by a stable acidity, pronounced phenolics and tannins. Firm Chardonnay with no little power and plenty of development potential.
