The red wine Aurus Rioja DOCa, vintage 2002 from the winery Finca Allende has been rated in 2006 with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Tempranillo, Graciano from the region La Rioja in Spain.
Brilliant dark ruby garnet, deep color core, violet reflections, delicate watery rim. Lots of dark chocolate on the nose, wood spice, rather ripe berry confit, delicate smoked notes, delicate dried fruit notes, some rhubarb, mint. Very powerful on the palate, powerful texture, full-bodied plum fruit, still relatively underdeveloped, fresh structure, still needs a few years, good development potential.
