The sweet and dessert wine Quintessenz Moscato Giallo Passito Südtirol DOC, vintage 2018 from the winery Cantina Kaltern has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Goldmuskateller from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Bright amber in colour. On the nose it's fragrant, with hints of dried apricot and canned peach alongside subtle nutmeg spice and floral lavender and bergamot. On the palate there's lots of clear fruit, with an oily texture that majors on notes of dried apricot. An elegant acidity animates the drink, leading to a mouth-filling finale.
