The red wine La Pieve Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, vintage 2018 from the winery La Gerla has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Bright, elegant ruby red. Mint and sugared raspberry on the nose, plus fine undergrowth, cedar and an aftertaste of shortbread. Full-bodied and clear on the palate, with great fruit of oranges, also slightly smoky, polished and long, salty, minimal openness on the aftertaste.
