Powerful, bright purple with garnet reflections and a dark core. Initially somewhat restrained, then spicy with hints of cloves, rosemary, black elderberries, lots of tobacco and some resin. Full-bodied on the palate with lots of grippy tannins, powerful body, shows tension, slightly warming on the finish.
