Strawberry shortcake with all its berry and cream notions appears with the first delicious whiff, followed swiftly by darker notions of forest fruit and a hint of smokiness. The palate is tender, pristine, bright and fresh with red fruit. The ripeness of the vintage is evident in its rounded glow, but nothing gets the better of this bright, red-fruited freshness.
