The red wine Cartagho Sicilia DOC, vintage 2018 from the winery Mandrarossa has been rated in 2021 by Othmar Kiem und Simon Staffler with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nero d’Avola from the region Sicily in Italy.
A dark, bright ruby red with a garnet hue. Lots of spices on the nose, juniper, very fine cedar wood, roasted nuts and tobacco, a hint of blueberry compote. Expansive on the palate, grippy, well integrated tannins, a gentle persistence, very slightly drying on the finish.
