Tasting Notes
Deep ruby garnet, deep core of color, delicate ochre rim. Inviting nuances of sweet dried fruit on the nose, delicate notes of blossom honey, a hint of powdered plum, underlaid with a little nougat, needs air in the glass, notes of dried herbs. Powerful texture on the palate, delicate notes of dark chocolate, subtle touch of roasted plums, round and soft, very well-integrated tannins. After an initial rather fruity sensation, the wine slims down in the mouth, is elegant and becomes a serious food companion, fine, silky nougat aftertaste, remains very persistent, great ageing potential, fine chocolate and raisin notes in the finish, salty minerality in the aftertaste, a classic example of a Cru Amarone, which has been produced by Masi since 1958.
