Brilliant, rich ruby violet. Compact, dense nose, showing rich notes of blackberry and elderberry, with smoky, earthy components in the background. Lots of dense, gripping tannins on the palate, opens with lots of ripe blackberry fruit, then fine and supple on the finish, describing a beautiful arc.
