The red wine Pathos IGT, vintage 2017 from the winery Santa Barbara has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah from the region Marche in Italy.
Emphatically spicy on the nose, some clove and dried orange peel, but also game, date, blueberry and very ripe black cherry. Soft and almost creamy on the palate, fine-grained, dry tannins in a tight, appropriate amount, intense fruit on the palate, great aromatics, certain ageing potential, controlled power, finishes on tactile mineral notes.
