The red wine Vico Prephylloxera Etna Rosso DOC, vintage 2017 from the winery Tenute Bosco has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio from the region Sicily in Italy.
Intense ruby red with a delicate garnet rim brightening. A spiced nose shows pepper, nutmeg, tobacco and black tea, whilst with air comes some rosehip too. Tight and austere on the palate, it builds with subtle drive towards a rich tannin framework and dancing acidity that sustains a long, spiced finish.
