The red wine Zweigelt Carnuntum DAC Ried Rosenberg, vintage 2018 from the winery Weinbau Markus Lager has been rated in 2021 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Zweigelt from the region Carnuntum in Austria.
It has a dark ruby colour, with an opaque core, purple reflections, and a delicate bright rim. There are aromas of dark berry confit, a hint of fig and nougat, underlaid with black cherry fruit, as well as candied orange zest. It is powerful, full-bodied, elegant, with sweet fruit, fine tannins, subtle chocolate notes, persistence, some minerality, and nice length. It is a complex food wine, and it has certain ageing potential.
