The red wine Zweigelt Reserve, vintage 1991 from the winery Weingut Christian Fischer has been rated in 2022 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Zweigelt from the region Thermenregion in Austria.
It has a medium garnet colour, with purple reflections, and a broad ochre rim. There is a delicately smoky aroma, as well as spicy black berry fruit, and a hint of liquorice and eucalyptus. It is juicy, taut and tightly woven, with sweet red cherry, fine tannins, some minerality, persistence, red berry fruit on the finish, and a spicy aftertaste. It is very fresh, nicely delicate, and with great fruit on the finish. It is a ripe Zweigelt which can be this good and timeless.
