In appearance a deep ruby colour, with purple reflections, and a broad bright rim. There is a delicate tobacco aroma character, along with dark berry fruit, an intense herbal savouriness, and some subtle cassis. It is juicy on the palate, with lovely sweet fruit, well-integrated tannins, a chocolaty note, and it has good persistence. It is a versatile food wine.
