It has a deep dark ruby colour, with an opaque core, purple reflections, and a delicate bright rim. There is a subtle herbal savouriness, as well as black cherry, a hint of berry, and underlaid with some nougat. It is juicy, with ripe cherry flavour, a red berry touch, nice fruit, rounded tannins, some minerality, a fresh aftertaste, with a lovely chocolate touch on the finish. It is a multi-faceted food wine, with certain ageing potential.
