The white wine »Vom Steinacker« Kirchheim Steinacker Chardonnay trocken, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Hammel has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Hay and a little yeast are accompanied by the aroma of well-ripened white grapes and a touch of minerality from wet stone. The still youthful acidity on the palate is astonishing. Notes of apple and ripe gooseberries are very appetisingly integrated into the taste. Medium length.
More about the tastingAromas of red apple, pear, hints of smoke, hazelnut and herbal savouriness. The pear notes are evident on the palate with a hints of vanilla and ripe fruit with fine acidity. A well balanced, fresh Chardonnay, great with food.
