Well-integrated wood, plus a spicy varietal edge with notes of aniseed, hazelnut and polenta. Slight sweetness on the palate, vital nerve, an almost slender impression despite 14% alcohol by volume, more red sandstone than limestone, juicy, sinewy finish with good length.
