The red wine Eichkogel, vintage 2021 from the winery Weingut Kollwentz has been rated in 2024 by Peter Moser with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt from the region Leithaberg in Austria.
Deep dark ruby colour, black core, purple reflections, brightening at the edge. Some liquorice, some nougat and fine cassis, a hint of tobacco and fine oak, fresh orange zest. Good complexity on the palate, juicy, fine tannin structure, mineral, ripe dark berry fruit, chocolatey finish, will benefit from further bottle ageing.
