The red wine Staves, vintage 2013 from the winery Weingut Kornell has been rated in 2016 by Othmar Kiem with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Sparkling ruby with a fine garnet rim. Intense nose with lots of ripe fruit, blackberry, some raspberry, also pomegranate, underlaid with notes of tobacco. Lots of present, juicy fruit on the palate, lots of blackberry, opens up with fine-meshed tannins, hearty, firm pressure on the finish and a long finish.
