The white wine Rüdesheimer Berg Schlossberg Riesling Spaetlese, vintage 2006 from the winery Weingut Leitz has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Rheingau in Germany.
Rich golden yellow in colour. On the nose quince, stewed apple, apple ring, nutty and caramelized notes, decidedly vivid for the vintage, with a very slight menthol overtone. On the palate a robust body, it has texture and force with vivid sweetness and concentrated acidity, and a striking tactile-mineral foundation. It is full of fruit, and is fermented a bit further than the classic Rheingau spätlese.
