The white wine »Mauerwein« Neuweier Mauerberg Riesling GG, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Schloss Neuweier has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Baden in Germany.
Subtle boisée, and a whole box of spices on the nose: allspice and cardamom, duqqa savouriness, sunflower seeds - very complex. The palate is characterised by fullness and texture, very round and rich and yet finely dissolving. This is more Burgundy than Riesling. Exciting and very gastronomic.
