The white wine »Imperiale« Chardonnay, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut von Winning has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 93+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Distinct new oak. But also savoury varietal aromas from anise to strawflower. On the palate, the wine has a lot of volume: an oily base underpins silky phenolics, ripe acidity, and a finish that resumes the spiciness of the aroma and accompanies tactile and mineral sensation.
