The white grape variety (also called Crapettone) comes from Italy; The name, derived from the shape of the grapes, means “sheep’s beard”. It was long considered a clone of the Coda di Volpe Bianca variety, but this was refuted by DNA analyzes carried out in 2005. A close relationship with the varieties Ginestra and Piedirosso was found.
