In the Retzer Land - an area richly endowed with natural beauty - lies the Althof Estate & SPA at the foot of the idyllic vineyard beneath the famous Retz windmill. Once the founding point of the town as a castle, tradition and modernity merge here today. The history - dating back 700 years - can be felt in every corner of the house. Comfort in a modern country house style, combined with individual architecture, subtle - with a lot of feeling and attention to detail. The uniqueness of the location and the spaciousness of the Althof allow for a variety that is second to none. On the one side is the lovely old town of Retz, which is well worth seeing, and on the other the vineyards - the source of the excellent Retz wines. Wine has always shaped the region and so it is given a special stage at the Althof: in the restaurant, in the Vinarium with its own wine tavern, in the Retzer Land regional wine shop and in the winegrowers' rooms.
The day begins with breakfast at the rich Weinviertel gourmet buffet. Oven-fresh pastries, sausage, ham and juices from the region, homemade cakes and jams, fresh vitamins, wonderfully fragrant coffee and tea offer an impressive selection! To end the day just as it began, our kitchen team will spoil you with the Weinbeißer half-board, exclusive candlelight dinner & wine and seasonal, refined à la carte dishes.
1000 m² of wellness on 5 levels: The Althof VinoSPA impresses with an infinity rooftop pool from which the surrounding vineyards and some of the city's landmarks can be seen. In addition, the "Gemischter Satz" sauna experience with six saunas, relaxation pool, relaxation rooms and sun deck in the middle of the 700-year-old castle walls ensures a special feel-good experience.
