"Fish & Seafood" Street Food Restaurants in Stockholm

High-school friends Rasmus Lennart Ek and Fritjof Bror Rapaport named their nearby butcher, opened in 2014, after their middle names. In 2023, they branched out to seafood, serving tuna melts, salmon bagels, and lobster rolls alongside mains with fish and shellfish in a white-tiled bistro.

After a successful launch on the Swedish west coast, this casual seafood spot took the leap to the capital in 2022. Near St. Eriksplan, where several niche restaurants form an exciting cluster, it serves the signature fish and chips, alongside crispy burgers, moules frites, and vegetarian options.

After cooking for Asian tourists in Karlstad for eight years, Chinese-born Zhengwen Chen moved to Stockholm in 2020 and opened this eatery in a local neighborhood. Lunch brings wraps, burgers, and fish stew, while the dinner menu includes a three-course menu and a mixed seafood platter to share.

At Sweden's largest market hall, Maria Nyberg founded this fish bistro in 1984. Today, she runs it with her daughter Clara and their team, serving up to 500 guests a day. The popular seafood stew comes with a free refill; other options include salmon quenelles and herring on crispbread.

Chefs Malin Söderström and Carl Ullsten are behind this seafood concept, which expanded from the Teatern food court to the renovated Gallerian in 2018. From lunch through dinner, light dishes such as fish tacos, glazed prawns, and tuna melt sandwiches refuel shoppers and guests from adjacent hotels.

Decades of frying Baltic herring have made this food truck with its yellow fish sign a local institution. True to its name, “freshly fried herring” serves the maritime classic with mashed potatoes, as a wrap or a burger, along with lingonberries, pickled cucumber, beetroot, and other sides.
