Ibiza: Madunia is the Island's Newest Foodie Hotspot

Gourmet

Just a few weeks after Madunia opened as a new restaurant on Ibiza, it had already become a sought-after address.

Right where the sun, sea and local culture meet, there is a new culinary hotspot der beliebten Balearen-Insel. Er trägt den Namen “Madunia” und feierte im Juni 2024 mit einer glanzvollen Party als neues Restaurant auf Ibiza seine Eröffnung. Schon jetzt erfreut es sich great popularity. And that's no wonder, after all, nothing was left to chance here.

Romantic location on Cap Negret

Madunia feels a deep connection to nature. This is also reflected in the name of the new restaurant on Ibiza. This is derived from Mom Dunia, also “Mutter Erde”, ab. Entsprechend wählte man den Standort. Die Gäste genießen neben ihrem Essen auch einen Panoramablick auf die Bucht, denn das Garden restaurant lies on the hills of Cap Negret.

From the roof terrace of the Madunia, you have a view of Ibiza's spectacular sunsets. Thanks to its location on a slope, the clever architecture creates many private dining areas and levels for intimate moments. This preserves the view without ever giving you the feeling that you are not among yourselves. As a new restaurant on Ibiza, Madunia naturally also knows how to impress with its cuisine.

Reaching for the stars

The head chef is Ivan Arauz Beusink. It's no secret that the Dutchman with Latin American roots is a great cook. After all, he learned from the best of the best. Before he came to Madunia Ibiza, he stopped off at Michelin-starred restaurants in Amsterdam, among others. For the popular Balearic island, he is focusing on a sharing concept that reflects the Spanish way of eating.

Latin American influences, fine dining techniques and strong flavors come together on the plates to create small works of art. According to Beusink's vision, each dish should tell the story of the island. Of course, this works best with products from the surrounding area. That's why they use ingredients from local producers. In combination with the ambience of an Ibizan finca, this creates a harmonious overall picture at Madunia.

Signature dishes that you should definitely try include carpaccio of gamba roja, tuetano with bone marrow chimichurri or Spanish wagyu short rib. Of course, the selection of fresh fish and seafood is particularly large. But there are also plenty of vegetarian dishes on the carefully curated menu.
