Pop-up restaurant ROKA comes to Cap Vermell Grand Mallorca
New traditional restaurant in the Balearic Islands.
Contemporary Japanese restaurant concept ROKA is expanding its portfolio and announcing a new pop-up restaurant in the Balearics for this year's summer season. The location is exclusive and extraordinary: the luxurious Cap Vermell Grand Hotel at Mallorca. There, guests and visitors will soon be able to enjoy Japanese culture combined with the Spanish lifestyle.
Japanese Signature Cuisine in the Balearic Islands
Located in a secluded valley on the eastern edge of the Balearic island, ROKA Mallorca is opening its doors at the iconic Cap Vermell Grand Hotel throughout the 2021 summer season. 585 square meters of restaurant space offer room for 100 outdoor seats as well as a bar and a DJ booth around the typical Japanese Robata grill. In addition to its award-winning Robatayaki concept and individual interpretation of modern Japanese cuisine, ROKA also brings its signature energy to this new location.
Founded in 2004 by Rainer Becker in London, ROKA quickly followed on from its successful sister restaurant Zuma. At the heart of the menu is the Robata grill, a traditional Japanese method of cooking over charcoal, inspired by the fishermen of Japan's northern coastal waters. Made famous by the brand's first restaurant in London, these include kankoku fu kohitsuji, Lamb chops with Korean spices and sesame cucumberand kampachi sashimi no salada, Yellowtail sashimi with yuzu-truffle dressingare among the signature dishes at ROKA Mallorca. The menu is rounded off by a range of signature cocktails such as the ichigo kub, a creation of gin, strawberry-mirin, Aperol, absinthe and lime. The Mallorcan offshoot of the restaurant concept also celebrates the culinary characteristics of the destination by incorporating typical flavours and ingredients of the island into its menu.
"We are very happy to have the opportunity to open ROKA at Cap Vermell Grand Hotel this summer. This is ROKA's first pop-up and we think the luxury hotel is the perfect location for it. We are very much looking forward to working with Toni Mir and the team to bring the ROKA experience to the island," commented Sven Koch, CEO of Azumi Ltd, on the project.
"We are thrilled to welcome the ROKA brand to our hotel," said Toni Mir, CEO of the Cap Vermell Group. "The energy of this concept perfectly complements our luxury resort and we look forward to expanding our exceptional culinary offering for hotel and external guests this summer."
ROKA Mallorca complements the existing restaurant portfolio in Canary Wharf, Mayfair, Charlotte Street and Aldwych in London and Dubai. Further new openings are planned in Riyadh and Kuwait in 2021.
