The first cruise ship with its own roller coaster sets sail
On the "Mardi Gras" you can ride a roller coaster 57 meters above the sea!
Since July of this year, families no longer have to choose between adventure and relaxation vacations. The new cruise ship "Mardi Gras" is the first in the world to have a roller coaster on board. With an extra portion of adrenaline the ship embarked on its maiden voyage in Florida in July.

Departure with a roller coaster on board
The "Mardi Gras" with the curved attraction is - unsurprisingly - currently the largest ship of the "Carnival Cruise Line". It will initially be deployed in the Eastern and Western Caribbean. The cruise ship regularly sets sail from the Port Canaveral harbor in Florida, USA, with an exciting roller coaster and docks there again at the end of the journey.
Accelerating in the "Bolt" roller coaster
Unlike on the mainland, the roller coaster's surface rocks above the sea. That's why the makers decided that the person in front of him in the carriage should steer the 22o meter long roller coaster himself. It regulates acceleration and speed with a maximum speed of 60 km/h.
"Mardi Gras", the second
The original "Mardi Gras" started the history of Carnival Cruise Line in 1972 and lasted until 1993. 49 years later, the cruise ship has now been given a successor of the same name with a length of 344 meters and a maximum speed of 43 km/h. With construction costs of around 950 million US dollars, 2,641 cabins were built, 78 of which are wheelchair accessible. This means that the ship can accommodate almost 5,300 passengers.
Other attractions on the cruise ship
The roller coaster is definitely the main attraction of the cruise ship and is one of those things that has to be seen to be believed. However, all the other attractions also have the potential to amaze passengers. You can choose from a High-rope climbing garden, basketball courts, fitness center with various courses, volleyball courts and even a dedicated jogging parkour. There are also five swimming pools on board.
Boredom is likely in the floating city with Karaoke, cooking classes, theme nights, an open-air cinema, a nightclub, a casino and a theater be a foreign word. For art lovers, there are creative courses and art auctions. For optimum beauty results, a spa and hairdresser have also been included. Even acupuncture is on the program.
