Falstaff TRAVEL presents the top 10.
1st Monte Clerigo, Aljezur (Algarve), Portugal
Praia de Monte Clérigo is one of the most popular Atlantic beaches in Europe. The beach on the Costa Vicentina is regularly voted one of the most beautiful in Europe and attracts travelers looking for nature, authenticity and quiet luxury away from crowded resorts. Golden cliffs, the wild Atlantic Ocean and spectacular sunsets make Monte Clérigo one of Portugal's most famous sunset beaches. The region is also attracting international attention - guests such as Alexandre Grimaldi and Christian Louboutin have recently been spotted here.
2. Voutoumi Beach, Antipaxos, Greece
Voutoumi Beach is located on the small island of Antipaxos, south of Paxos in the Ionian Sea and can only be reached by boat - so there are no parking spaces. During the season, a small taverna serves Greek specialties such as souvlaki and tzatziki. Sun loungers and parasols are deliberately absent, which emphasizes the original character of the beach. Voutoumi is ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
3rd Fteri Beach, Kefalonia, Greece
Fteri Beach is located in a secluded bay on the island and is surrounded by striking white cliffs. The beach can usually only be reached by boat or via a steep hiking trail, which preserves its seclusion. The scenery is characterized by light-coloured rock faces framed by a mixture of white pebbles and sand, which merge into the crystal-clear, turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea.
4th Elafonissi Beach, Elafonissi, Greece
The beach is world-famous for its unique, often shimmering pink sand, which is created by crushed shells - a natural wonder that you have to see once in your life. The shallow lagoons are particularly popular with families with small children. Adults can enjoy swimming or snorkeling in the deeper water. Tip: Stay until sunset - it is unforgettable.
5th Bogliasco Beach, Liguria, Italy
Bogliasco Beach is a charming pebble beach in the picturesque fishing village of the same name. The colorful houses and the view of the Ligurian coast give the place a special charm. The beach is located near Genoa and can only be reached to a limited extent by car - public transport is recommended. There are cafés and restaurants in the area, as well as sun loungers and parasols in high season. Culinary delights such as Trofie al pesto and focaccia will sweeten your day.
6th Cala Mesquida, Mallorca, Spain
Cala Mesquida is a picturesque bay in the north-east of Mallorca with a 300-meter-long dream beach of fine, white sand. Turquoise water, gentle hills and dunes create a particularly natural, tranquil backdrop. The bay is located around seven kilometers from Capdepera and around 15 kilometers from Artà. Lifeguards are on duty during the high season. Cala Mesquida is particularly suitable for families, although it can get windy and wavy at times.
7th Kvalvika Beach, Moskenesoy, Norway
Thanks to its secluded location, Kvalvika Beach is one of the most pristine natural beaches in Norway. Vacationers appreciate the golden sand, the turquoise water and the impressive mountain backdrop. Located in the Lofoten Islands in the north of Norway, the village can only be reached by hiking. There is no infrastructure on site - visitors should be well prepared and bring sufficient provisions. The beach is particularly suitable for experienced hikers and those seeking peace and quiet who want to experience pure nature.
8th Rovinia Beach, Corfu, Greece
The secluded pebble beach boasts crystal-clear water, framed by densely vegetated slopes and striking cliffs - a scene from another world. Located on the west coast of the island, near the village of Liapades, the beach is only accessible by boat or via a narrow footpath. The remoteness is part of its charm; Rovinia is completely unspoiled, with no tourist infrastructure. If you come here, you should bring everything you need, and you will find absolute peace and quiet.
9th Kaputas Beach, Turkey
Kaputaş Beach is located between Kaş and Kalkan in the southwest of Turkey. A long staircase with around 187 steps leads from the coastal path down to the beach. Parking above the cliffs is limited, so we recommend arriving early. The small bay is famous for its golden sand and intense turquoise water. Squeezed between steep cliffs, the beach appears almost hidden and particularly exclusive - one of the reasons why it is one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.
10th Paleokastritsa Beach, Corfu, Greece
On the northwest coast of the island, around 25 kilometers from Corfu Town, beaches and rocky inlets alternate with ever-changing views. It is precisely this diversity that makes the place so special. Sun loungers and parasols, cafés and water sports such as snorkeling or boat trips make for a varied day at the beach. Tavernas along the shore round off the evening with Corfiot classics such as sofrito and pastitsada.
