The peninsula on the east coast of Canada has about 100 hectares of vines in the Annapolis Valley near Fundy Bay, despite unfavourable conditions beyond the 45th parallel. 22 winemakers have planted mainly very frost-resistant grape varieties such as the French hybrid vines Baco Noir, Maréchal Foch, Castel 19637, DeChaunac, Léon Millot and Seyval Blanc, as well as two Russian hybrid vines based on the original Vitis amurensis Mischurnitz and Severny.
