Falstaff Wineguide Austria/South Tyrol 2021/22

Röschitz is located at the foothills of the Manhartsberg in the northwestern Weinviertel, first mentioned in a document in 1198 under the name "Respiz" (Rebspitz). The Kölbl family has been resident there since 1660, and ever since viticulture has been part of the family tradition. In 1998 the farm was taken over by Johannes Kölbl and since then it has had the name "Respiz-Hof". The main variety is traditionally Grüner Veltliner. On the weathered granite massif and the fertile, drifting sand deposits (loess soil), particularly fruity and mineral wines thrive. In the cellar, the grapes are carefully processed.

The result of these efforts are elegant, fruity and fragrant wines. With love, care and attention the Kölbl family produces wines according to their motto "Quality is never a coincidence, but the interaction of nature and man". With the Weinviertel DAC Himmelreich 2013, Johannes Kölbl achieved second place at the "Falstaff Grüner Veltliner Grand Prix", and with the Weinviertel DAC Reipersberg 2015, he was named national winner.
