Notwithstanding the fact that a hailstorm in April 2019 decimated the yields at Weingut Georg Jung, Johannes Jung reports that “the 2019 is a source of joy.” The young winemaker sets ever stronger accents at his parental winery. It was a stint in South Africa that spurred his passion for Chardonnay which he now matures in new barriques: his Chardonnay from the Undenheimer Goldberg is the top wine in a range of a rather sophisticated wines. His full-bodied and barrique-aged Sankt Laurent shows that Jung also knows how to handle reds. Onwards and upwards!
