Rooftops, cocktails and fine dining: French perfumer Pauline Rochas reveals very personal insider tips and hotspots in her hometown Paris.
Pauline Rochas wurde nicht nur in die Duftwelt, sondern auch in die schicke Metropole Paris hineingeboren. Waren es früher ihre Großeltern, die legendären Marcel und Hélène Rochas, so ist es heute sie selbst, die die Welt mit betörenden Düften verzaubert.
Mit 18 Jahren verließ Pauline Rochas die „city of love“, um den Rest der Welt unsicher zu machen. Heute kehrt sie gerne für Businesstrips oder um Freunde und Familie zu besuchen in ihre Heimatstadt zurück. Da sie selten länger als eine Woche bleibt, bezeichnet sich die erfolgreiche Unternehmerin heute als „Paris-Besucherin auf der Durchreise“. Umso besser, kann sie sich doch so ideal in die Bedürfnisse anderer Reisender hineinversetzen.

There are plenty of ways to relax and to be pampered at the Café de Flore in the artists' quarter Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
Where can you get a delicious breakfast/brunch?
Wenn ich Bock auf ein Healthy Breakfast habe, gehe ich gerne zu Wild & The Moon. Ich bin verrückt nach ihren veganen Milchsorten: Hollyweed, Vanilla Mylk, La Vie en Rose. Auch die frischen Säfte sind toll. Zum Brunchen gehe ich gerne ins legendäre L’Entrecote (Relais de Venise) in the Rue Marbeuf or at Porte Maillot.
Tell us your favorite restaurants in Paris?
Das beste Fischrestaurant ist für mich das Le Duc. Die beste traditionelle französische Küche bekommt man im Chez L’Ami Louis and Le Voltaire. I also love the food at Le Bar des Prés Cyril Lignac, Caché and L’Ami Jean.
The rooftop bar with the best view?
I can think of two right off the bat: La Suite Girafe (Note: open in good weather from April) and the rooftop bar of the Cheval Blanc
Where to find the best cocktails in town?
Very clear: in the Herbarium Bar im Hotel National des Arts & Métiers. Dort erlebt man Mixology in Reinkultur. Ein absolutes Erlebnis für die Sinne.
Hopefully Corona won't last forever: The best place for "a night out with the girls"?
I would have several ideas: The Serpent a Plume, the Bambino, the Raspoutine.
Where do you eat when you're in the mood for a quick snack?
In eine der vielen für Paris typischen altmodischen Brasserien. Dort bestellen Sie sich einen Salat „au chèvre chaud“, mit warmem Ziegenkäse.
Where do you go when you feel like culture?
Man muss nur einen Fuß vor die Türe setzen. Kultur ist überall. Die vielen Museen, Rodin, the Louvre, …
Where do you prefer to go running?
Along the banks of the Seine, the Rive Droite (Note: "right bank"), via the Jardin des Tuileries to the church of Notre Dame, then to the Île Saint-Louis, and back along the Rive Gauche (Note: "left bank").
What do you do to clear your head?
Ich gehe in den wunderschönen Pariser Parks spazieren, etwa in den Jardins du Palais Royal, auf dem Place des Vosges oder im Parc de Bagatelle.

What are your must-go events of the year?
The Fashion Weeks, the FIAC (Note: International Contemporary Art Fair). Paris ist aber auch für Kunstausstellungen and the Oper definitiv einen Besuch wert.
What is your favorite neighborhood in Paris?
Ich habe kein Lieblingsviertel an sich, ich bewege mich aber gerne im Zentrum von Paris – vom 1. bis zum 7. Arrondissement. Jedes Arrondissement hat seinen eigenen Charme.
What is the best area for shopping?
I am also drawn to the 1st to 7th arrondissements for shopping.
What is the best way to explore the city?
Am besten sieht man sich Paris zu Fuß oder mit dem Fahrrad on.
What is the best thing about Paris?
The eternal beauty of the city, its rich history - and the many memories of my childhood.
