Kapitel 1 – von Tokio nach Hong Kong: Klänge des Fernen Ostens

At Controtempo, the world cruise begins before it starts, as guests can already enjoy a tour of Japan's most legendary experiences beforehand. Then they'll set sail to explore the cities, sights, sounds and tastes of the Far East, including Japan's "umami" – the fifth taste – a new flavor that has transformed cuisines around the world and become part of the Sea and Land Taste (S.A.L.T.) program at the Silver Dawn .

Time moves at a different pace here, as the second chapter of the trip showcases the cities, traditions and cultures of Southeast Asia. Here you'll discover deeply rooted local traditions and modern fare in such famous places as Ha Long Bay and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. Distant temples make way for sprawling cityscapes, while millennia are bridged between today and yesterday.

Fortunately, the sculpted monuments of Petra and the incredible structures of Luxor can still be discovered. After Egypt, you'll cross the famous Suez Canal to visit Israel.

The Mediterranean sun rises to reveal medieval treasures and centuries-old cities. Millennia of history in places like Istanbul, Nafplion, Syracuse and Naples have made the world what it is today. The 2025 world voyage, Controtempo, will be the very first world voyage aboard Silversea's magnificent flagship, the Silver Dawn . She offers a wider range of accommodations and more space in her suites and throughout the ship. The Silver Dawn is large enough to accommodate eight different restaurants, but small enough to offer Silversea's legendary family ambiance onboard as well as personalized service. Onboard the Controtempo , enjoy the iconic culinary program S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) , where you can take the time throughout the trip for an in-depth exploration of trendy and timeless culinary treasures.

S.A.L.T. can be experienced at various locations on board, including the S.A.L.T. Kitchen, Silversea's special restaurant that brings the flavors of the world directly to the table, at S.A.L.T. Bar, where you can sample regionally inspired cocktails made with quality local ingredients, and at S.A.L.T. Lab, an interactive space where travelers can recreate all the fantastic dishes they encounter ashore.

This diversity allows for a fuller and richer onboard experience that is a perfect fit for Controtempo, a world cruise that travels to a plethora of incredible destinations and offers a wide variety of regions, cultures and experiences.
