Following the recent opening of voco The Hague comes another brand premiere. This time near the Milano Innovation District.
IHG Hotels & Resorts continues to push ahead with its expansion course. Following the recent launch of voco the Hague opened the brand's first store in the Netherlands, the time has now come in Italy. With voco Milan, officially voco Milan-Fiere, it's now "benvenuti a Italia!"
"We are delighted to be the first voco hotel in Italy and to enrich the hotel scene in Milan," says Paolo Tirelli. The hotel manager explains: "The name 'voco' comes from Latin and means 'to invite' or 'to bring together'. This is exactly what we offer our guests." With its work and conference rooms as well as its restaurant and leisure facilities, the Milan branch brings together the best of both worlds. And it is inviting anyway.
This is ensured, among other things, by the design of the 280 rooms and suites as well as the public areas. In keeping with the brand language, the interior is bold, contemporary and reduced. Yet charming. The grey and blue tones in their variations are complemented by the colour yellow. Plants and wood bring nature into the interior of the hotel. This also plays a major role in the voco Milan-Fiere. For example, guests sleep in bedding made from 100 percent recycled materials, and the bathroom products come from Antipodes. The award-winning company, known for organic plant-based skin care, is another piece of the puzzle in voco Milan's sustainability strategy. Glass is used instead of plastic, of course, the menus are digital and the heating is all electric.
The typical "voco way of life" can be enjoyed in the two restaurants and bars on the ground floor. While the OnFire Grill & Lounge focuses on local and seasonal ingredients fresh from the grill, Ludico Drinks, Food & Play concentrates on an excellent cocktail menu. Hot food is also served here all day long. There is also a games area with a pool table, video games and dart boards. Those who prefer to switch off after a long day can let off steam in the fitness room or use the wellness area. This comes with a Turkish bath, indoor pool and sauna.
With its location close to Linate and Malpensa airports and close to several important business centres, the first voco hotel in Italy is perfect for business travellers. The Milano Innovation District (MIND), the Milan Exhibition Centre and the Milano Convention Centre (MiCo) are all within easy reach. The hotel also has attractive meeting and seminar rooms. Tourists, on the other hand, will be pleased with the good connections to the city centre of Milan.
