Recipe
Cookies

Popularized by the hit Netflix series, this very common Korean cookie is suprisingly easy to make.

Ingredients (12 servings)
150 g Sugar
3/4 teaspoon(s) Baking powder
  • First lay out some baking paper on a baking tray.
  • Stir the sugar in pieces in a ladle or in a small pan continuously for a few minutes on a low heat until a caramelized, golden brown mass has formed and no more sugar pieces remain.
  • Add a little baking powder evenly to the sugar  to increase the volume; stir for a few seconds.
  • As soon as the sugar starts to bubble, the mixture can be placed in small portions on the baking paper. Wait approx. 10-15 seconds,  then press the individual cookies flat using the bottom of a pan.
  • Immediately afterward, use a cookie cutter to press a pattern into the semi-solid mixture. Make sure that you do not pierce through to the bottom.
  • After just under a minute, the cookies are hard enough to eat.

Tip:

If you're short of time, you can mix all the sugar in a pan at once – but once the mixture is ready for the baking paper, everything has to be done very quickly as the individual cookies cool off fast.
