Pays d'Oc IGP

France

The Pays d'Oc is located in the south of France in the historic region of Languedoc-Roussillon, along the Mediterranean coast between the Rhône and the Pyrenees. With around 120,000 hectares of vineyards, it is one of the largest contiguous wine-growing regions in France. The Mediterranean climate with plenty of sunshine, cool winds from the sea and a wide variety of soils – from limestone and clay to slate and sand – create ideal conditions for viticulture. The enormous variety of grape varieties is particularly characteristic: 58 varieties are permitted, including traditional southern French varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan, as well as international classics such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. This openness allows for a wide range of styles – from fresh, aromatic white and rosé wines to powerful red wines. Pays d'Oc IGP thus stands for modern, accessible and creative wines that reflect the diversity of the Mediterranean region while bridging the gap between French tradition and international taste.
