Denkt man an Gin, denkt man wohl nicht zuerst an Spanien. Doch Galicien zeigt, dass es sich lohnt auch mal in Spanien vorbeizuschauen. Aber wir beginnen von vorn: Bei einem Teller Oktopus entschieden drei in der Genusswelt bewanderte Freunde einen Gin mit Zutaten aus ihrer Heimat Galicien zu kreieren. Nach viel Tüftelei hatten sie die perfekte Rezeptur gefunden. Der Nordés Gin war geboren. So weit, so schön! Aber was ist denn jetzt drin im Gin? Der formvollendete »Nordés Atlantic Galicien Gin« basiert auf der spanischen Rebsorte Albariño, dessen Destillat durch Mazeration von 11 Botanicals verfeinert wird. Sechs davon sind Wildkräuter der Region: Salbei, Lorbeer, Zitronenkraut, Eukalyptus, Minze und die Meeresalge Salicornia, die Nordés sein charakteristisches balsamisches Aroma verleihen. Vollendet und abgerundet wird dieser revolutionäre Gin mit fünf Botanicals aus Übersee: Wachholder, Ingwer, Kardamom, Hibiskus und schwarzer Tee. In addition to a slight juniper note, fruity hints such as lemon verbena are predominant on the nose. On the palate, it has a slightly tangy and spicy note. The finish is strong and the aftertaste is again characterised by citrus freshness.
