The delicious burgers at “Alte Kuh” are the foundation of its success; the laid-back staff and the atmosphere in the colorful settings of the XO Grill locations all contribute to the overall success of the concept. So do the great (natural) wines from Tschida, Preisinger, and Moric.
Along with “NY-style” burgers (including vegetarian options) made with locally sourced grass-fed beef and served with the house sauce, there are also “sides” such as fried corn on the cob, cucumbers, avocado, and spicy feta. Other favorites include the hand-cut fries, smashed potatoes, and the white chocolate-halva mousse with raspberries.
The burger pros really know their craft. The finest Austrian beef is sandwiched between handmade buns along with crisp salads and carefully crafted house sauces. The vegetarian and gluten-free options are becoming more and more popular—and more and more delicious. And to top it off: craft beer!

In the cozy living-room atmosphere, beer and burgers take center stage alongside numerous board games. They serve a smooth 14 on tap, and the burger is celebrated with monthly specials (July: Viva Mexico, August: Greek, Oct./Sept.: Oktoberfest). “Well, I’m honored!”
It’s not easy to stand out from the competition. Here, they do this partly through fun names (“Double Trouble”) and partly through clever extras, such as fries made from organic Demeter potatoes and fried in premium canola oil—the burgers themselves are top-notch, too.
