"Even tired spirits wake up again," said one taster in praise of Levin Rothmund's lively "PetNat". This compliment can be applied to the entire range of this talented young winemaker, whose development we are following with great interest: His unadorned wines are not made to flatter, but showcase the local Keuper soils with a hint of vin naturel. What Levin Rothmund elicits from often underestimated grape varieties such as Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau is remarkable: full of tension, with ripe phenolics and minerality.
