Strong red; on the nose initially restrained, decanting is worthwhile, then savoury notes, liquorice, tobacco, also dark fruits; in the taste pithy attack, dense, concise tannin, good supporting acidity, earthy-savoury flavours; long, mineral-tinged finish. Characterful, complex wine with certain ageing potential.
