Tasting Notes
Kaliber 48 is the top Spätburgunder of the passionate hunter Simone Adams. Demanding nose of iodine, smoked meat and herbs, little primary fruit. Firm, tightly pulled tannins, acidity is aggressively focused, not an ounce too much of fat on the body, sinewy, trained and bold. Vibrant tension. Young and attractive, with plenty of ageing potential.
More about the tastingThe highest calibration of the winery presents itself as dark and smoky as a ham hock. Smoked bacon, juniper, blueberries and cherries are perfectly supported by the palate: wood spice, ripe tannins and fresh acidity invite you to dance.
