The red wine Abandonado Douro DOC, vintage 2017 from the winery Alves de Sousa has been rated in 2019 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Vinhão from the region Douro in Portugal.
Dark ruby, purple reflections, soft broad and bright rim. Delicate toasty aromas, intense nuances of blackberry and liquorice, candied orange zest, and ripe plum in the background. Full-bodied, ripe plum also on the palate, vivid tannins, nutty touch with some nougat. Already accessible it is a juicy giant.
