The red wine Solengo, vintage 2020 from the winery Argiano has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Bright, almost black ruby red. Elegant and intense nose of stewed plums, bergamot, pickled violets, plus liquorice, very complex. At first soft and supple on the palate, followed by fine-grained, quite youthful tannin, weighty mouthfeel, discreet bitter note, still needs time, but a lot of ageing potential.
