The franciacorta Edizione Rosé Extra Brut Franciacorta DOCG, vintage 2016 from the winery Barone Pizzini has been rated in 2020 by Othmar Kiem und Simon Staffler with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay from the region Lombardia in Italy.
This has a bright, intense and luminous apricot colour. On the nose there are aromas of delicate nougat, oakiness, and young cherry, followed by orange marmalade, and with some iodine on the finish. It opens on the palate with an elegant fruit texture, and a well-integrated mousse, and it is very juicy, also slightly salty, appearing fresh, lively and straightforward.
