The red wine Sammarco IGT, vintage 2009 from the winery Castello dei Rampolla has been rated in 2014 with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Intense ruby colour with a slight purple sheen, flint. Very memorable, fragrant nose of blackcurrants, blackberries and dark cherries, slightly savoury notes in the background. Plays up nicely on the palate, presents itself with lots of juicy fruit, underpinned by salty-mineral components, dense tannins, lots of tobacco in the finish.
