Tasting Notes
Strong ruby, purple reflections, somewhat feint water edge. Strong smoky-spicy underlay of blackberry jelly, prune, a touch of bouillon, needs a lot of air. Dark berry, taut, sustainable tannins, which still need to soften, a really multilayered wine, peppery notes on the finish, sloe and sour cherry, a touch of noble chocolate in the aftertaste.
More about the tastingDeep ruby, purple reflections, slightly brightened, delicate watery rim. Strong smoky and spicy blackberry jelly on the nose, some dried plum, a hint of bouillon, needs a lot of air, becomes more multifaceted the more it breathes. Dark berries again on the palate, taut, firm tannins that still need time, a truly multi-layered wine, peppery notes on the finish, with an aftertaste of sloe and sour cherry and a subtle hint of dark chocolate. A real long-distance runner that will gain in sweetness with time, this is a Vin de Garde! Age +40 years.
More about the tastingRich ruby, impenetrable; quite closed nose, slightly dusty, some leather; quite hard in approach and course, dries out, in the finish after ink lead. (17,09)
